I’m playing with new ways of presenting my findings so we’re going podcast-style for this post! Clare and I were chatting in a busy cafe in Mile End so there’s a lot of background noise but our voices are still pretty clear. Clare is a visual artist interested in working with people in specific locations in a socially engaged way. Hers is a social practice that is concept-led and developed in collaboration with participants and places. We had a great chat about ‘art that doesn’t look like art’, what that means, how foraging can affect the ways that people relate to their local environment and each other, elderflower jelly, getting people involved, fair shares, unpredictability, unintended outcomes and cultural participation as a radical act of inclusion. Here is a link to the East End Jam blog, which is where Clare details her findings and where you can also find information about her upcoming Jamborees https://eastendjam.wordpress.com/
